The Zoo on a Gorgeous KC Day

On Saturday we went to the zoo for a quick visit after swimming lessons to let Bill paint the lower half of the kitchen cabinets.  Above, they are watching the sea lion show.

For some reason, I had my camera set to sepia and we were sitting in the polar bear exhibit when the polar bear keeper chat started.  The chat was great because he normally swims around in a circle close the the glass that is outdoors and the kids always want to sit inside on the benches.  They usually end up sitting there just looking at the water or watching the video about polar bears (and loving it anyway).  This time they had a great time watching Nikita jump into the water with a huge splash and catch his fish! I let Ginger help Genevieve ride the carousel and she held her very tightly…Genevieve loved it!  I think Ginger did, too 🙂

Adorable pictures! Glad to know the Sea Lion exhibit is open again and I’ll have to plan my next trip around the Polar Beat chat time!

Thanks, Helen. The Polar Bear chat is totally worth planning your zoo trip around… on Saturday I think it was at 1:00 but I don’t know if it is always the same through the week? The Sea Lion Show is 1:30 so it worked out nicely to do both.
