Grandma & Grandpa stopped in KC briefly on a short weekend trip so we went to the airport to see them. Grandma & Kevin had gone shopping and found a bug container, bug collecting tools, etc. Ginger & Liam looked for bugs several times by themselves, but couldn’t seem to find any. So last week, I found this inchworm that is camouflaged as a twig. I was thankful for those tools so that I didn’t have to touch it, whew!
This weekend, Bill caught a cicada for them. Gross…red eyes and all. I don’t mind the sound that cicadas make, but I just don’t want to have to look at them or their little skins that they leave all over my yard. And I don’t like for them to be living as a pet in my house. So, they took it back outside to let it go. Bill opens the container and it flies up and suddenly a bird swoops down from the tree and snatched the cicada. NICE. Nothing like learning about the food chain from experience!
I love when you can have a live learning experience!!!!
